Does Taylor Swift Get Revenge Through Her Music?

GETTY IMAGES
Taylor Swift's confessional songwriting is part of the reason we love her, but her songs inevitably cause a lot of controversy when people try to figure out who she's actually singing about. In a recent interview with Fashion magazine, the "Shake It Off" singer revealed how she really feels about her super-autobiographical music — saying that she gets a sense of satisfaction knowing that the person is hearing her songs!
"There’s a strange, eerie form of justice that happens when someone treats you terribly, you write a song about it, and that song ends up playing all over the world," she said. "You know at some point they’ve heard it in the grocery store, and they can’t escape.”
Even worse, they probably get her songs stuck in their heads!
Taylor obviously means no ill will by it, but we're glad that it helps her work through her experiences. Still, we can't even imagine what it must be like to be the subject of one of her tracks.
How would you react if Taylor wrote a song about you? Do you think she should keep writing detailed songs about her personal life?
mmm-mmm
