Ever since we were first introduced to 5 Seconds of Summer during One Direction's 2013 Take Me Home tour, we've been pretty big fans, so we were totally shocked that the band announced that they were canceling some of their upcoming 1D Where We Are tour dates. The reason is actually great news, though — the band has been asked to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards!
Of course, the downside to this awesome news is that the band has to cancel a couple of their tour dates.
While we're definitely bummed that 5SOS won't be performing in Dallas and St. Louis, we are super-excited to watch their performance at the VMAs! It's a big honor to be asked to perform, and we're already wondering how crazy (or not) their performance will get. Obviously, we would totally welcome any superhero costumes.
