Even though the Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber dating rumors have died down, everyone still anticipated the duet that they teased earlier this year. While an Ariana-Justin collab is noticeably absent from the tracklist of the "Bang Bang" singer's upcoming album My Everything, it's not because they didn't want to spark more rumors! Instead, Ariana says they both got too busy working on their own music.
“We were working on it. We were in the studio together…We were going to do it, but then we both got busy,” she told the Associated Press. “I had to focus on my stuff and he was focusing on his, and it just sort of didn’t really get done.
There's still a chance that we'll get to hear a Justin-Ariana collab, though! Ariana says that their collaboration is on the back-burner, but they feel like they owe it to their fans to keep their promise and work on a new song together.
“We feel like we owe it to our fans to do something one day. We will finish it and put it out one day, but it just wasn’t the right time.”
While we're disappointed that they never got a shot to finish their duet, it will definitely be worth it when they finally get in the studio together. Based on Ariana's track record with collaborations, it's sure to be a hit.
