My name is Lauren, and I'm 13 years old. I'm writing to you because I need your help honoring one of my heroes, Talia Castellano, who died last week after fighting cancer for years.
I discovered Talia Castellano's makeup tutorials on her YouTube channel over a year ago and became an instant fan because we're the same age and I was trying out makeup for dance competitions. But I didn't know how sick she was until she died from cancer last week. And when she was gone, I felt like I had lost a friend.
Talia is especially important to me because my baby cousin survived a rare form of cancer after months of chemotherapy. Talia wanted to help sick kids like my cousin feel beautiful too, and before she died, she wrote a bucket list including a wish to have her own MAC makeup line.
I started my first petition ever on Change.org asking MAC Cosmetics to honor Talia's legacy by creating a line of makeup that supports children's cancer charities. Click here to sign my petition.
Talia used to say "just keep swimming, just keep swimming." She taught me that no matter what happens in life, you have to keep going. So instead of just being sad I'm fighting to make Talia's dreams come true. MAC Cosmetics has made lines of makeup that give profits to different causes before, and they could become leaders by dedicating a line of makeup to a young fan with cancer like Talia.
But they need to hear us first. By signing my petition you'll join me in speaking up for a girl who can no longer speak for herself. I believe MAC will do the right thing if enough people demand a makeup line honoring someone as special as Talia who wanted to help everyone feel beautiful, even sick kids.
